Maniacal Month

Wow, I can't believe it's been nearly a month...alright, almost exactly one month since I last posted anything. There has been a lot going on in our corner of Bucyrus and this particular branch of the family tree, most of it sad or bad. Let's just say that if you look up the word "stressed out" in the dictionary, our names will be right there.

I think we have put about 5,000 miles on the car and used up just about all of our wireless minutes (a lot of those today alone!). This week will be a lesson in making sure I get all the bills paid for my organization, laundry, getting the oil changed in said car, and packing for my trip next week.

I've discovered that you can never fully anticipate how you will be called on to help a family member or a friend. Helping the family member was not a surprise (and certainly not a pleasant one), and I suppose, in retrospect, it's not totally surprising that we had to help out the friend. I'm happy to say that I think my friends and family, would help me out in the same way if the situation was reversed.

On the positive side, I can say that my running shoes got another six miles put on them this week. I know that's only three days of running 2 miles each, but I did also ride my bike, and it was exceptionally windy that day! My feet seem to be able to take running two miles, but the new orthotics I was trying out in my left shoe today gave me quite the blister on my arch--ouch! So much for those orthotics. I feel better when I get out and exercise, so you would think that I would get off my lazy butt and do it more often!

6 miles!? Good for you! I don't do that much, and I don't have the excuse of lousy feet!

PS - It's a weekend, you didn't use any minutes that would cost you.

I thought about that (the fact that I was using weekend minutes) sometime in the middle of the night when I wasn't sleeping.
