The Workouts Continue

I think I should start keeping score of the things in my life I am supposed to be doing. The only thing I am doing reasonably well at right now, however, is working out. I haven't been keeping up with the house very well (so that would score a zero); I have only been sort of keeping up with the Little Theatre stuff (so I guess that would score a 1?), and I have been keeping up with the fitness program (so I think that would score a 3!). I feel good about working out, other than being sore; but I feel badly about letting other things fall by the wayside. There's gotta be a better way. I guess I will go straighten up the house so I can give myself a 2 in that area for today.

So if mine are playing with kids, keeping house, and working out I guess today I get a 2, 3, and 0 ... total of 5/9, I think I probably still fail!

I don't know if I like the idea of keeping score, though I think subconsciously I'm doing it constantly (and almost always coming up with a lower score than I'd like). Are we too hard on ourselves or is this constant score-keeping that keeps us striving to be better? Just food for thought. If you ask me, you should get points for your thoughtfulness and all the things you do for Mom and everyone else when you're in STL. Save up those points and you can use them when you feel you're slacking in Bucyrus. :-) Love, Mary
